The Barker Street area is looking particularly beautiful at the moment and our little meadow is truly glorious wearing all her autumn colours. The leaf fall is, as you can imagine, keeping us rather busy. OL1y is as full of pumpkin as a little fat squirrel can be and he continues to add seeds and nuts to his winter stash, much to the delight and expense, of the OL1-Oldham membership.
Our Micro-Meadow Project Manager has secured funding from Action Together for a fantastic picnic bench set, which we are all looking forward to installing down in the far corner of the meadow in spring.
This will be a great spot from where centre users can really enjoy the fruits of all our labours.
Although we're not growing veg we inherited some really beautiful nasturtium plants from which we have harvested lots of seeds. We will be carefully adding them to next years crop and, no doubt, brightening and peppering up our summer salds with them. You can find out more about nasturtiums here:
Meanwhile, do come join us in enjoying
the atumn fall and the delights of our
local wildlife.
